Marks Biography

My story starts in Yorkshire where I was born and educated. It’s where I met and married my wife, Lesley. We now have two children and four grandchildren. I worked for BT and its predecessors for 40 years, finishing my employment at BT Laboratories – now known as Adastral Park. We moved to Rushmere St Andrew in 1980.

I served for 12 years as a District Councilor from 2011 to 2023 when I didn’t seek re-election. I became a Parish Councilor in 2011. Both Councilor roles have been very fulfilling – being able to influence decisions to the benefit of my residents.

I like “The Shadows”, “ABBA” and “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”! My hobbies include cats, horses, electronics, and amateur radio. Lesley and I walk a lot and have probably now explored every public footpath in Suffolk.
