Rushmere St Andrew Neighbourhood Plan

The Rushmere St Andrew Neighbourhood Plan was prepared by Rushmere St Andrew Parish Council, following extensive consultation with the local community and sets out its vision for development until 2036.
The Neighbourhood Plan was adopted ("Made") by East Suffolk Council on 28th June 2023 and will have full weight in planning applications considered within the parish. To view the plan and other documents view the list below.

QUIET LANES

There are four designated Quiet Lanes in Rushmere St Andrew. Quiet Lanes are a nationally recognised designation for narrow, rural roads which are shared by walkers, horse riders, cyclists and other road users. They encourage drivers to ‘Expect and Respect’ more vulnerable road users and so allow non-motorised users to enjoy rural lanes in greater safety.
These types of lanes do not impose traffic restrictions and are not enforced. Advisory signs (like the one opposite) are placed at either end of Quiet Lanes to show motorised users clearly that the road is a shared space.
