The Suffolk Libraries Local session in Rushmere is set to restart next Wednesday (19 May) at Ransomes Sports Pavilion in Sidegate Avenue, Ipswich.
Weekly services will be available for the first time since lockdown began, including browsing and bookable computers. The session will then run every Wednesday from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
Suffolk Libraries Locals are also known as 'pop-up libraries' as they will appear at their location on a weekly basis for customers to browse and enjoy a slice of library life. Suffolk Libraries has two Suffolk Libraries Locals, the other located at Shotley Village Hall.
Rushmere launched in March 2018 with a grant by Ipswich Borough Council's North East Area Committee, with additional support from Suffolk County Councillor locality budget funding.
Before lockdown, Rushmere delivered many children's events and activities which often included manager Tom Veasey performing songs on his guitar. These activities are due to resume on 23 June and will include Wordplay activities for pre-school children and weekly coffee mornings and activities for adults.
Manager of Suffolk Libraries Local Tom Veasey said:
"We're very excited to be returning to the Pavilion and offering our full service again to local library visitors. The community room at the pavilion has a lovely atmosphere and we are looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces."
